Gosberton was established on Gosberton Fen during the Great War only
as a relief landing ground (Class 2, Unlit) with two grass landing strips.
Elements of 38 Sqn RFC arrived in Oct 1916, deploying forward from HQ
at RFC Leadenham, and Buckminster. 38 Sqn departed in May 1918 and was replaced by elements of 90
Sqn which was headquartered at RAF
Buckminster with flight-sized detachments at Gosberton, Leadenham and Anwick,
until it disbanded in Jun 1919.
