Market Deeping was used as an emergency landing ground during the Great War.
Some RAF/WAAF personnel were stationed here during WWII as well - or perhaps this refers to billeting in the town only
Langtoft RADAR site is just 1/2 mile away from Market Deeping and was sometimes refered to as RAF Market Deeping
There is a Decoy site near Market Deeping but to the south between Deeping and Maxey. It may have been a decoy for RAF Wittering.
