46% of all Bomber Command’s casualties were based in Lincolnshire

25,000 aircrew from Bomber Command, flying from Lincolnshire, died
Support the project to erect the Lincolnshire Bomber Command Memorial on Canwick Hill, Lincoln, by May 2015.
The project to build a memorial to the Bomber Command in the heart of “Bomber County” is one of huge significance to both the county and its inhabitants. It recognises the enormous contribution made to the war effort by the area and its on-going relationship with the Masters of the Skies, the RAF.

RAF Waddington was to lose more bomber aircraft on operations than any other Bomber Command station. Of a total 345 losses, 103 were Hampden, 15 were Manchester and 227 Lancaster.
