1 Sqn RCAF and was renumbered to 401 Sqn on forming in England as a
fighter sqn at RAF Digby.
Wing Commander G
R MacGregor was OC during 1941 but posted back to Canada later in that
year. Later on in the war he was appointed Air Officer Commanding Aleutian
Islands and in peacetime was to be President of Trans-Canada Airlines
and the Founder President of International Air Transport Association.
