The sqn was engaged in the night defence of Britain from Nov 1943 to May 1944, the period of the "Little Blitz" on England. From Feb to Oct 1943 410 Sqn was on nightfighter defence duties and ranger operations, single Mosquitoes attacking specific European road and rail targets at night. 410 Sqn has the distinction of being the top-scoring night-fighter unit in 2nd TAF in the period between D-Day and VE-Day.
