Lincoln War Memorial is in the form of a large cross and
panels located in Saint Benedict's Square in the city centre. The original
memorial was
dedicated
in April
1922
and the text reads:
"To the glory of God and in undying memory of those men and women of
this city who made the supreme sacrifice in the First and Second World
Wars. Erected by the citizens of Lincoln."
There are a total of 971 names from the Great War and 314 from World
War II.
