Lincoln Cathedral provides a spiritual focus to the commemoration of the sacrifice of service by airmen across the county.

As a central tribute, the Airmen's Chapel of St Michael within Lincoln Cathedral houses memorial books and stained glass windows.

The three Memorial Books (1 Group, 5 Group and ?) contain the names of 25 611 Bomber Command personnel who were killed in action on missions originating from Lincolnshire airfields. This figure includes 1233 Canadians, 1140 Australians, 687 Polish Air Force personnel, 200 New Zealanders and 90 Rhodesians. The first two books were dedicated in 8 Nov 1949.

The Chapel's 4 stained glass windows are memorials to Bomber Command, Flying Training Command, the Royal Rhodesian Air Force and Royal New Zealand Air Force.

Open: Jan-May, Sep-Dec: 0715-1800 (1700 on Sundays
late May-Aug: 0715-2000 (1800 on Sundays)
